Sai Korrapati

Founder & Chairman of Vaarahi Chalana Chitram Sai Korrapati’s passion for films started at a very young age. His company first made its mark in the movie distribution arena initially distributing movies like ‘Seetharamaraju’ & ‘Laahari Laarahi Laarahi’ in 1999 & 2000 respectively. Sai first film ‘Eega’ won him a National Award. The movie was later dubbed in various languages and was critically acclaimed for its content.Breaking away from the usual model of star-studded films, Sai next project was a much appreciated ‘Andala Rakshasi’ in the year 2012. Sai choice of films does not necessarily fit into the realm of “masala” films, although early this year he did co-produce the star-studded super hit Telugu movie ‘Legend’ with Balakrishna in the lead.

Sai is the first producer in Telugu film industry to have moved towards a studio model encouraging independent talent where projects are helmed by writers and directors under the Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram Banner.

As a strategic investment decision in the ever changing Entertainment & Media landscape, Sai Korrapati has also invested in the growing digital company Silly Monks Entertainment. The company recently bagged the Start up of the year award – 2014, by Silicon India Magazine. Silly Monks has interests in content publishing, digital marketing, brand engagement, & movie production among other things.
